INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF GARNACHA AND SUSTAINABLE GASTRONOMY
ZARAGOZA MAY 30 – JUNE 8, 2025
The International Festival of Garnacha and Sustainable Gastronomy brings together a vibrant program full elici activities, music, art, painting, film screenings, talks, sensory tastings, pairings, workshops, raffles, and cultural routes where you’ll uncover fascinating curiosities and elic into the magical world of wine. Everything revolves around the queen grape: Garnacha, from the Protected Designations of Origin Calatayud, Campo de Borja, and Cariñena.
The weekend of June 6–8, don’t miss the International Garnacha Fair, a unique opportunity to discover a wide array of wines crafted by expert producers and winemakers in a festive atmosphere filled with friendship, music, and culture — featuring performances by local bands.
One of the highlights of the festival is GastroGarnacha: from May 30 to June 8, various bars and restaurants in Zaragoza eli offer tapas and menus specially created elicio with Garnacha wines, inviting you to enjoy a elicious culinary journey through the city.
GRENACHE AND SUSTAINABLE GASTRONOMY FAIR
The appointment is on June 6, 7 and 8 from 12 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the Macanaz Park.
The International Fair of GARNACHA and Sustainable Gastronomy will bring together numerous wineries and producers who will meet, on the banks of the Ebro, to show and offer their wines to visitors and all wine lovers who come.
On June 6, 7 and 8, we will enjoy musical performances on the stage located inside the Fair with extended hours.

On the first day of the Fair, Friday 6 at 12 noon, the @enjoyzaragoza team will record a podcast with the protagonists of the Grenache.
Later at 1:30 p.m., the ARAGON DIPLOMAS/SPECIAL MENTIONS of the VINESPAÑA National Wine Competition will be awarded.
In February of this year, the VII edition of the VINESPAÑA National Wine Competition was held, organized by the FEAE, Spanish Federation of Oenology, the only Spanish institution recognized by the International Union of Oenologists, which brings together about a thousand Spanish technicians, and which is made up of the different territorial associations of winemakers, including the Aragonese one. VINESPAÑA created special mentions to recognise the winemakers, wineries and wines of Aragon. The competition was held last February, at Feria de Zaragoza within the framework of Enomaq, highlighting the clear winemaking vocation of Aragon and becoming the world centre of oenology every 2 years, through ENOMAQ – VINESPAÑA
Likewise, on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 from 12 to 20 h, the Boutique Market will be held with artisans from Zaragoza in the Macanaz Park.
Also within the framework of the Fair, a BLIND TASTING will be held with Jonatan Armegol, on Saturday, June 7 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
On Sunday, June 8 at 12:30 p.m., a cocktail making demonstration will be held by Carlos Orgaz in Macanaz Park. Free event, for 20 people until full capacity is reached.
GASTROGARNACHA
GastroGarnacha: from 30 May to 8 June. Numerous bars and restaurants in Zaragoza will offer a selection of tapas and menus paired with Aragonese wines made with the Garnacha variety in its different versions.
A tapa + a glass of Grenache wine €5.50 (VAT included)
Marinated menu with Grenache 25 € / 40 € / 55 € (VAT included)
Razimo: event for professionals accredited by the organization where you can taste different wines from Spanish wineries and a selection of wines made with the Garnacha variety.
There will be a free tasting area dedicated to the Garnacha de Zaragoza where you can taste various wines. During the show, the “Garnacha del Mundo” tasting will be held, led by Norrel Robertson MW and Fernando Mora MW, producers and winemakers based in Aragon.
Opening hours: Monday, June 2, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Crown Room, Pignatelli Building. Professionals with invitation and accreditation.
Meat and Grenache Days: throughout the Festival, Hermanos Pueyo will offer their special meat products designed for this occasion. The special and unique recipes have been made with Grenache wines from Bodegas Care.
The products chosen on this occasion are: sausage, cachopo, hamburger and sausages. The sale will be at stall no. 4-5-33 of the Central Market of Zaragoza, from May 30 to June 7, for the visiting public.
A special pack has been created with all the products that includes a surprise from Bodegas Care. The products will also be available for purchase separately.
The commercialization of these special products will be done exclusively on the days of the Festival, with the idea of leaving the most voted on the list of products through a raffle on social networks.
In addition, on Tuesday, June 3 , a shoowcooking will be held for guests from different fields who will discover, in a tasting, new pairings and recipes with the collaboration of Alimentos de Aragón.
On Sunday, June 8 at 12:30 p.m., a cocktail making demonstration will be held by Carlos Orgaz in Macanaz Park. Free (20 people up to full capacity).
Painting
Discover your most artistic side with the Creative Painting Workshop on June 1 at 11 a.m., a unique experience where art and wine go hand in hand.

CULTURE
Garnacha Tours: participants will have the opportunity to take a guided tour of the city of Zaragoza and the Garnacha Garden, making nods to the history of wine in our city, to finish with a tasting of Grenache wines paired with different tapas. The appointment is outside the Tourist Office in Plaza del Pilar (Calle Santiago, 22). Two appointments at 6:30 p.m., on Friday, May 30 and Wednesday, June 4. Wine and art in Zaragoza: the Association of Cafés and Bars organises, at its headquarters on Calle Sanclemente, 2 practical and sensory workshops relating Grenache grape wines with colours, music and Goya, respectively.
This is an activity open to all audiences until full capacity is reached, which will be held on Tuesday, June 3 and Wednesday, June 4 , 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at the Training Center of the Professional Association of the Association of Cafes and Bars (Calle Felipe Sanclemente, nº 8 – access to the Shopping Center).
Two workshops will be held:
- “The colour of wine, the Garnacha pantonera”, Tuesday 3 June from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The workshop will consist of a tasting of three – four wines from the D.O. of the Province (Calatayud, Cariñena and Borja) and the creation, in parallel, of a plastic work with different materials and textures depending on the sensations and colors of the Garnacha grape – both white and red. Up to 20 people can participate in the workshop. It will be given by Ana Grañena, sommelier and hospitality teacher.
- “Music and wine, the sound that stimulates” Wednesday, June 4 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The workshop will consist of a tasting of three – four wines from the D.O. of the Province (Calatayud, Cariñena and Borja, different from those of the previous workshop) accompanied by a sensory activity by a musical artist from Zaragoza, who will interpret the sounds, flavors and smells evoked by the different wines, opening our senses. Up to 20 people can participate in the workshop.
CINEMA
“Cariñena, wine from the sea”
Screening of the trailer and making of the film whose premiere will be on June 17 in Zaragoza. The film is inspired by the book “Cariñena” that Antón Castro wrote as a young man after an experience during a grape harvest in Cariñena.
Within the framework of the Palacio de Montemuzo (Calle Santiago, 34), on Tuesday, June 3 at 7:30 p.m., a colloquium and meeting will be held with Javier Calvo, director of the film, Diego Garisa, actor who plays Antón Castro as a young man, and Antón himself, where they will discover the details of the filming and numerous anecdotes, accompanied by a glass of wine specially created for the film. The meeting will be hosted and moderated by Adriana Oliveros at the Palacio de Montemuzo until full capacity is reached.
Gastrometry
An exclusive event where the union of Grenache and cinema will come together with the screening of documentaries and colloquiums, accompanied by Grenache wines paired with local products. In a dreamlike atmosphere we will immerse ourselves in the magic of cinema and wine. Thursday 5 June, at 5.30 pm, at the Old Pignatelli Deposits on Paseo Cuéllar. Free admission until full capacity is reached.
We will enjoy the exhibition of the feature film Buddha Jumps Over the Wall and a colloquium with tasting of gourmet products Grupo Pirinea and wine Garnacha Festival of the D.O. Cariñena.
To continue with the screening of the documentary trailer La sombra del Nogal. Presentation by its director and tasting of gourmet products from the Pirinea Group and Garnacha Festival wine from the D.O. Campo de Borja.
We will finish with the documentary El bizcocho del Alfonso XIII and subsequent colloquium with tasting of the protagonist sponge cake made by Micheto and the Garnacha Festival wine of the D.O. Calatayud.
